SOCIOFINANCING: THE PIRATES’ COVE

In just 7 months, we opened 8 escape rooms and 7 scenarios making Fox in a Box Sherbrooke the largest escape game center in Estrie. But we don't stop there. Thanks to La Ruche Québec, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign to build our next and final game:

Pirate Cove.

This is a game which, you guessed it, takes place in the era of buccaneers and buccaneers. This 90-minute game for 4 to 8 players will be the most immersive experience ever offered across the entire Fox in a Box network. In addition, we have been authorized to develop with the Calimacil company: new technologies, new games and accessories that will make your experience even more immersive. We hope to be able to offer a world-class venue in Sherbrooke.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is you, as a consumer, helping a company, a project or an individual to raise the money needed to finance a project. In our case, the money raised will be used to build this new immersive experience.

In exchange, the project promoter undertakes to deliver to you the compensation to which you have contributed. Transactions are secured by the Laruchequebec.com portal. You run no risk, as the amounts will be deducted from your card only when the campaign is successfully completed.

Thanks to the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, with the Horizon d'ici fund, and above all thanks to your help, if we achieve our objective, we will receive an additional amount of $37,500 in grant.

A little more about Pirate Cove

It was at my first franchise meeting in Belgrade that I discovered the game: Pirate of Crowbar Escape. Fox in a Box had acquired the rights to the game and presented it to us as the next theater offered throughout the network. I must admit that I had no expectations, I didn't see how I was going to be impressed, especially knowing the quality of the games offered in Quebec.

Oh ! My! How wrong I was, from the first moments, the atmosphere, the settings, the music, the story, everything was there. I had played some good venues: Storyteller’s Secret in Boston, Wardrobe for Sale in Laval, Dark Wyvern’s Mining in Indianapolis. All excellent games, but here I found a perfect balance between story, atmosphere and puzzle solving.

As Belgrade is not a very common vacation destination for Quebecers, I had to bring this game to Quebec, but in an improved version. Why improved? Because I am lucky to have a cousin who is the owner of Calimacil and who is passionate about new projects. Calimacil is a molding company specializing in the manufacture of life-size foam weapons. Who says foam weapons, says sabers and pirate accessories.

He had developed “Calimotion” technology to integrate into his weapons and accessories in order to recognize movement, positioning in space, detection of contacts with light effects. So, we teamed up to continue developing and adapting this technology to escape games to create a unique series of puzzles never seen before.

We are convinced that you will love this new adventure, and your support is invaluable to us!
